Life Groups are where we can experience the Life of Jesus Christ! Life Groups are places where we build community: a place where we can know and be known, love and be loved, serve and be served, and celebrate and be celebrated, in order to glorify the Life Giver and share Life with every person in Bureau County.

     What is a Life Group?

Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts, they broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts.”  Acts 2:46

Life Groups are places where we can share the joys and struggles of life together. They are safe places where we can be honest with one another, seeking to know others and be known by others in real authentic relationships. We believe the kingdom of God is all about relationships!

“The greatest love is shown when people lay down their lives for their friends.” John 15:13

Life Groups are places where

we are accepted and loved

unconditionally.  We believe that

within every human being is a

desire to be loved for who we are,

and to give love to others. 

 

Life Groups exist to express the

sacrificial love of Christ to one another. 

“Jesus knew that the Father had put all things under his power, ...so he got up from the meal, took off his outer clothing, and wrapped a towel around his waist...and began to wash his disciples feet.”  John 13:3-5

Life Groups are places where we seek to serve Christ through service to one another and to our community.  In the same manner as Christ took a towel and washed his disciples feet, we seek to use the gifts that God has given us to serve one another.  At the heart of community is the serving and building up of others in Jesus’ name.

“I have come that they might have life, and have it to the full!” John 10:10

Life Groups exist to celebrate the joy of ife together!  We believe that a “full” life can only be experienced in Jesus

together with other believers who celebrate His Life in one another! What fun is a spiritual birthday party celebrated alone?  Life Groups exist to experience the joy and fun of Jesus’ Life in community! 

 

“Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” Matthew 28:19

 

The heartbeat of our Life Group community is the desire to reach those who do not know Jesus Christ.  Opportunities are sought to build servant relationships with people to demonstrate the real and authentic love of Christ.  Life Groups exist to breathe Life into those who do not know Jesus Christ, and thus as more people are reached, each group grows and

consequently multiples with the goal that every person in Bureau County can experience the revolutionary power of God’s love lived out in community!

We want to invite you to consider experiencing community in a Life Group.  If you already know someone here at FBC, ask them if they are a part of a Life Group.  If you need assistance, mark your Sunday Morning connect card “Life Groups” and drop it in the offering plate, and we will contact you.  You can also contact either of our Life Group Deacons.
